Updated 5 September 2026 against official sources (see the notes marked in the article).
Correction — updated 25 September 2026
The 2024 row of the dividend history table was wrong. ASNB’s figures for the financial year ended 31 December 2024 are 5.50 sen income distribution + 0.25 sen bonus = 5.75 sen, not 4.25 + 1.00 = 5.25 (ASNB ASB fund page, Product Highlight Sheet dated 25 May 2026).
The 2017 row left out a 1.00 sen additional bonus that ASNB’s Product Highlight Sheet lists for that year, so the 2017 total is 8.25 sen, not 7.25. The “1.5 percentage-point drop” comparison now starts from 2016 (7.25%).
Online redemption hours: ASNB lists myASNB redemption as Monday – Sunday, 02:00 AM to 11:59 PM, not 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (ASNB Redemption page).
We removed the claims that online redemption is capped at RM 2,000 a month, paid out instantly, and that the limit was raised in late 2025. ASNB’s current redemption pages do not state an online limit or payout time, so none of them could be confirmed from an official source.
Each point above was re-checked against the official source linked in it on 25 September 2026. Rules and fees change; confirm with the agency before you act.
Walaoeh! The wait is over. ASNB has declared the ASB payout for the financial year ended 31 December 2025. 📈💰
Every January, while others are busy planning their China Holiday, smart Malaysians are glued to their myASNB app. The burning question on everyone’s lips: “Is the ASB Dividend 2026 enough to beat inflation?”
With the cost of living rising (hello, unsubsidized petrol!), every cent of passive income counts. The days of “blindly putting money in ASB” are gone. We need to calculate. But there is a bigger debate this year. With the OPR (Overnight Policy Rate) sitting relatively high, those holding ASB Financing (Loans) are sweating buckets. “Bro, my loan interest rate is 4.8%, but the dividend is 5.75%. I earn peanuts! Should I cancel my loan?”
In this Ultimate 2500-word Investment Guide, we dissect the numbers like a surgeon. We look at the ASM Dividend History Malaysia, calculate the real “Spread” for loan takers (with a 20-year projection table), compare ASB against EPF/Gold/Crypto, and guide non-Bumis on how to hunt for the elusive ASM units.
Let’s dive in.

(Figures below are ASNB’s declared distribution for the financial year ended 31 December 2025.)
| Fund | Income Distribution (Sen) | Bonus (Sen) | Total Payout | Benchmark (FD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASB (Bumiputera) | 5.20 | 0.55 | 5.75 sen (5.75%) | ~3.80% |
| ASM (Non-Bumi) | Refer to ASNB announcement | – | Refer to ASNB announcement | ~3.60% |
| Inflation Rate | – | – | ~3.5% | – |
| Verdict | Okay (Beats Inflation) | Bonus helps | Better than FD | Barely Safe |
Walaoeh Verdict: It’s not the “Golden Era” of 8% anymore (miss those 2010 days?), but 5.75% is still decent compared to Fixed Deposits. However, the gap is closing. (Looking for safer alternatives? Check our Fixed Deposit 2026 Guide).
Part 1: The Historical Truth – A 10-Year Analysis
To understand if ASB Dividend 2026 is good, we cannot just look at this year. We must look at the trend. Are we on a sinking ship? Or a stable cruise?
ASB Dividend History (2016 – 2026)
| Year | Income Distribution (Sen) | Bonus (Sen) | Total Return (%) | OPR Rate (Avg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2016 | 6.75 | 0.50 | 7.25% | 3.00% |
| 2017 | 7.00 | 0.25 + 1.00 (Additional) | 8.25% | 3.00% |
| 2018 | 6.50 | 0.50 | 7.00% | 3.25% |
| 2019 | 5.00 | 0.50 | 5.50% | 3.00% |
| 2020 | 3.50 | 0.75 + 0.75 (Ehsan) | 5.00% | 1.75% (Covid) |
| 2021 | 4.25 | 0.75 | 5.00% | 1.75% |
| 2022 | 3.35 | 1.25 + 0.50 (Tambahan) | 5.10% | 2.75% |
| 2023 | 4.25 | 1.00 | 5.25% | 3.00% |
| 2024 | 5.50 | 0.25 | 5.75% | 3.00% |
| 2025 | 5.20 | 0.55 | 5.75% | 3.00%+ |
Walaoeh Analysis:
- The Drop is Real: We went from 7.25% in 2016 to 5.75% for the financial year ended 31 December 2025. That is a 1.5 percentage-point drop in returns.
- The “Safety” Factor: Despite the drop, ASB has never lost money (Negative Return). This consistency is why PNB is still trusted.
- Global Diversification: Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) has shifted strategy. They are investing more in Global Real Estate and Tech (US Market) because the local Bursa Malaysia (KLCI) has been stagnant. This move is what saved the dividend from dropping below 5%.

Part 2: The Great Debate – ASB Financing vs Cash Investment
This is the most critical section for 2026. Should you borrow money (Loan) from banks like Maybank or CIMB to invest, or just put your own cash?
Scenario A: Cash Investment (Risk-Free)
- You invest: RM 1,000 monthly from your salary.
- Return: 5.75%.
- Profit: You keep everything.
- Risk: Zero. You own the money.
- Walaoeh Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Safe & Stress-Free).
Scenario B: ASB Financing (Leverage) – The Trap?
- You borrow: RM 200,000 (Max cert).
- Loan Tenure: 30 Years.
- Monthly Repayment: Approx RM 1,050.
- Loan Interest Rate: Let’s say 4.80% (Banks have hiked rates due to OPR).
- ASB Dividend Return: 5.75%.
The “Spread” (Profit Gap) Calculation: Dividend (5.75%) - Loan Interest (4.80%) = 0.95%
Is 0.95% Spread Worth It? Historically, the spread used to be 2.0% – 3.0%. Now it is much thinner. However, you must consider two things:
- Principal Reduction: Part of your monthly RM 1,050 goes to paying down the debt. You are building equity.
- Forced Savings: If you didn’t take the loan, would you actually save RM 1,050 every month? Or would you spend it on Shopee?
Walaoeh Verdict on ASB Loan Worth It 2026:
- YES if you are young (<30 years old) and need discipline.
- NO if you are >40 years old or if you can find investments yielding >6% elsewhere.
- DANGER: If OPR rises again and your loan rate climbs above the 5.75% dividend, you will be in Negative Carry (Paying the bank more than you earn).
Part 3: The Magic of Compounding (Don’t Touch the Money!)
Albert Einstein said, “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world.” Many Malaysians make the mistake of withdrawing their ASB Dividend 2026 immediately to pay for Road Tax or School Fees. STOP.
Illustration only. Let’s look at a 20-Year Simulation if you start with RM 50,000 and NEVER withdraw the 5.75% dividend.
| Year | Principal Start (RM) | Dividend (5.75%) | New Principal (RM) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | 50,000 | 2,875 | 52,875 |
| Year 5 | 62,530 | 3,596 | 66,126 |
| Year 10 | 82,698 | 4,755 | 87,453 |
| Year 15 | 109,369 | 6,289 | 115,658 |
| Year 20 | 144,643 | 8,317 | 152,960 |
Result: Your RM 50,000 became RM 152,960 without you adding a single cent. You roughly tripled your money. Lesson:Let the “snowball” roll. Only withdraw for emergencies or to reinvest in high-yield assets like Property. (Check our Property Guide for ideas).
Part 4: ASM Guide for Non-Bumiputera (The “Ghost” Fund)
For Chinese and Indian readers, ASB is off-limits. You have ASM (Amanah Saham Malaysia). But buying ASM units is harder than buying a PS5 Pro on launch day. It is always “Sold Out”.
What is ASM?
It is a Fixed Price fund (RM 1.00 per unit). It has no sales charge. It is the closest thing to ASB for non-Bumis. ASM Dividend History Malaysia: ASM’s rate is declared separately by ASNB — refer to the ASNB announcement for the current figure rather than assuming it tracks ASB. It is still tax-free.
How to Buy ASM in 2026 (Walaoeh Hacks):
- The “Post-CNY” Effect: Historically, many units are sold back to PNB during Chinese New Year (people need cash for Angpow/Gambling). This is the best time to hunt.
- The “Spam Refresh” Method: Log in to the myASNB Official Portal at strange hours (2 AM – 4 AM).
- Physical Branch: Go to a less crowded Pos Malaysia branch in rural areas. Sometimes their system updates differently.
- ASM 2 Wawasan & ASM 3: Don’t just stick to ASM 1. ASM 3 (Didik) often has more liquidity.
Part 5: Comparison – ASB vs The World
Is ASB still the best place for your money? Let’s compare it with other 2026 options.
| Investment | Risk Level | Indicative Return | Liquidity | Pros/Cons |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASB | Low | 5.75% (declared FY2025) | High (Online) | Capital Guaranteed. Boring but safe. |
| ASM | Low | See ASNB announcement | High (Online) | Capital Guaranteed. Boring but safe. |
| EPF (KWSP) | Low | 6.15% | Low (Locked) | Higher return, but money is stuck until age 55. |
| Fixed Deposit | Low | 3.60% – 4.00% | Medium | Good for short term (1-12 months). |
| Gold | Medium | Volatile | High | Hedge against inflation, but no monthly income. |
| Crypto (Bitcoin) | Extreme | -50% to +100% | High | Can lose everything overnight. |
Verdict: ASB is the “Emergency Fund King”. It is liquid enough to withdraw anytime, but gives better returns than FD. Keep 6 months of salary in ASB/ASM. Put the rest in EPF or Property. If an offer beats every row in this table while calling itself risk-free, that is the first characteristic on the SC’s own list of investment scams — check the licence before anything else: how to check an investment in Malaysia.
Part 6: How to Calculate Your Dividend? (ASNB Dividend 2026 Calculation)
Many people think: “I put RM 10,000 in December, I get full dividend right?” WRONG. ASNB Dividend 2026 Calculation is based on the “Minimum Monthly Balance” (Baki Minimum Bulanan).
The Golden Rule: The system looks at the lowest balance you had in your account between the 1st and the 30th of the month.
Example of a Mistake:
- Jan 1st: Balance RM 0.
- Jan 5th: Deposit RM 10,000.
- Jan 31st: Balance RM 10,000.
- Lowest Balance for Jan: RM 0. (Because from Jan 1-4, it was 0).
- Dividend for Jan: RM 0.
Strategy: You must deposit the money before the 1st of every month (or on the 1st) for it to count for that month. If you have a lump sum Bonus now (Dec 2025), deposit it ASAP so it counts for January 2026.
Part 7: Cara Keluarkan Duit ASB Online (Withdrawal Guide)
Need money for school fees? You don’t need to queue at the bank anymore: ASNB lets you redeem online through the myASNB portal and app.
- Login: Open myASNB App.
- Select: “Portfolio” > “ASB” > “Jualan Balik” (Redemption).
- Limit & payout time: ASNB’s current redemption pages do not state an online redemption limit or how fast the money arrives. Check the amount and timing the app shows before you count on the cash.
- Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday, 02:00 AM to 11:59 PM (per ASNB’s Redemption page).
- Fee: Free of charge.
- At the counter: You can also redeem at ASNB branches and agents, where ASNB says redemptions are generally processed immediately, subject to each fund’s policy.
Summary: The Final Strategy
Despite the lower rates compared to the “Golden Era”, ASB Dividend 2026 remains a crucial pillar of Malaysian financial planning.
- For Bumiputera: Max out your RM 300,000 limit. It is a tax-free privilege that no other country offers.
- For Non-Bumi: Hunt for ASM aggressively, but don’t ignore Digital Bank Savings Accounts which are now offering competitive daily interest.
- For Loan Takers: Review your interest rate. If your bank hikes the rate close to the 5.75% dividend, consider performing a “Partial Settlement” to reduce the principal.
Walaoeh Action Plan:
- Check App: Login to myASNB on Jan 1st to see your total.
- Reinvest: Do not withdraw unless you are starving. Let it compound.
- Review Loan: Call your bank and ask for the current “Effective Rate”.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When is the ASB Dividend 2026 payout date?
ASNB declared the ASB payout for the financial year ended 31 December 2025 at 5.20 sen income distribution + 0.55 sen bonus = 5.75 sen per unit. The units were credited into unit holders’ accounts on 1 January 2026. You can view the updated balance via the myASNB portal or app starting Jan 1st.
Is ASB Financing vs Cash Investment better in 2026?
With the current OPR trends, ASB Financing has a thinner profit margin (spread) compared to previous years. If your loan interest rate is around 4.8% and the dividend is 5.75%, the spread is 0.95%. However, Cash Investment gives you a straight 5.75% return with zero interest cost. ASB Financing is only recommended if you struggle to save diligently and need a “forced savings” mechanism.
How to perform Cara Keluarkan Duit ASB Online?
To withdraw ASB funds online:
– Download and register on the myASNB app.
– Go to the menu and select “Jualan Balik” (Repurchase).
– Enter the amount (the app shows what you can redeem; ASNB’s redemption pages do not publish a fixed online limit).
– Verify with TAC/Secure verification. Online redemption is open Monday – Sunday, 02:00 AM to 11:59 PM, and the money goes to your registered bank account.
Can non-Bumiputera invest in ASB?
No, ASB (Amanah Saham Bumiputera) is exclusive to Malaysian Bumiputeras. However, non-Bumiputeras can invest in ASM (Amanah Saham Malaysia), ASM 2 Wawasan, and ASM 3. These funds are fixed-price (RM 1.00 per unit) and low-risk, similar to ASB, but units are limited.
What is the ASB Dividend calculation formula?
ASNB Dividend 2026 Calculation is based on the Minimum Monthly Balance. It does not calculate based on the daily balance. If you deposit RM 10,000 on the 5th of January, that RM 10,000 earns zero dividend for January. It only starts earning in February. Always deposit before the 1st of the month.
